Sauna and ice bath projects in Ubud: planning the guest route
For an Ubud villa or retreat, a calm-looking wellness concept should also work during wet weather and routine maintenance. Start with the route between accommodation, changing, sauna, ice bath and rest space. Assess the actual site rather than assume every property has the same landscape.
Draw the route in wet and dry conditions
Mark any exposed paths, steps and changes in level on the plan. Discuss where guests leave footwear and towels and how wet circulation is managed. Where an existing garden slopes, have a competent project professional review the proposed base and any retaining or drainage work before fixing the cabin position.
Give timber and equipment a drying strategy
If the proposed location is shaded or exposed to frequent rain, ask how the structure is protected and how the area dries after use. Review exterior cladding separately from the sauna’s internal surfaces. Agree maintenance access to concealed areas and select care methods appropriate to the actual materials.
Plan quiet operation without hiding service access
A retreat may place treatment or sleeping rooms near the wellness area. Show those spaces to the equipment supplier when locating the chiller and service route. Do not solve a visual concern by enclosing equipment so tightly that the manufacturer’s airflow requirements cannot be met.
